• Entrance Hall

As soon as you enter the house you are aware of what Strathburn Cottage is all about. Underneath the 13' ceilings, bright natural furnishings and decor are of the highest quality but unmistakably country. You will immediately feel relaxed and comfortable. Take a moment to enjoy the variety of oil paintings and antique prints that adorn the walls. The Entrance Hall leads past the Oxley, Kangaloon and Gibraltar Suites through to the Guests Sitting Room.

    Guests Sitting Room

This is a room that we are particularly proud of. Furnished in natural earth tones this room provides a relaxing atmosphere of uncompromising luxury and the 13' ceilings give your senses room to move. A stunning, white fire-surround houses a log fire which is the focal point of the feather and down filled lounge and arm chairs, which all combine to celebrate the Southern Highlands climate the best way possible.

Relax here with a magazine and some soft music in the background or meet with other guests or invitees and liven it up a bit. Antique Irish pine furnishings and the absence of highly polished, hard edged timbers create a warm and relaxing mood consistent with 'getting away from it all'.

  • Centennial Suite

Exceptionally well-appointed, self-contained accommodation with king size bed or twin king singles featuring exquisite bedding using the finest Portuguese linens over electric blanket(s), making the Centennial Suite very flexible. The room is furnished in natural and rust colourings with Sisal floor-coverings giving a modern, country ambiance while respecting the heritage of the main house.

Although perfect for two people who want some privacy, this room is sure to be a favourite with the freedom that this room affords, having its own kitchenette, which includes fridge and microwave, and the study area with antique pine table and chairs. A 51cm Television and DVD/Video player include extra AV sockets and S-Video socket for use with cameras, laptops or any other electronic equipment if you are in work mode, or for the Playstation (supplied) during some down time. The television can be viewed from the two 'bucket' lounge chairs over a glass of wine or it can be adjusted, allowing it to be seen from the bed or beds.

Cushioned bench seating is under an amazing North-facing, lead-light, timber window, which from its elevated position has a view of the gardens with Mount Gibraltar as a backdrop. The ensuite is delightful. Clever use of a skylight allows you to use the large shower space in natural light while retaining total privacy and all furnishings are of the highest quality.

The Centennial Suite is accommodation taken to the next level which will be appreciated by those looking for something special.

    Oxley Suite

A large bedroom with ensuite, soft pastel colours to suit a variety of tastes, antique iron double bed with exquisite bedding using the finest Portuguese linens over electric blankets. 13' ceilings, with decorative cornice and rose, and a grande crystal Chandalier complete the character filled ceiling. Timber sash windows look out over the North facing verandah and stunning front gardens of Camelias and Azaleas amongst a huge variety of trees young and old. Ensuite includes a shower with room to move, plantation shutters over timber sash windows and is beautifully presented.

    Gibraltar Suite

Stronger colours and dark antique furniture set the tone for this fantastic room, which includes an antique hardwood double bed, beautifully furnished with quality Portuguese linens over an electric blanket.  An area under the timber-framed window provides precious natural light to work or read by. Luxurious carpeting will give your feet the impression that you really care! A large shower cubicle in the ensuite will be appreciated as will the quality of all furnishings. Plantation shutters, over a timber-framed window, further enhances the character while allowing total privacy or bright natural daylight, whichever you choose.

    Kangaloon Suite

Also 13' ceilings with decorative cornice and rose, the Kangaloon Suite has an antique double bed and a French Day Bed which is a single, again beautifully furnished with quality Portuguese linens over electric blankets.  The timber sash window overlooks the front garden and bright decor gives a large room an even roomier feel.  A large ensuite with a powerful shower, L'Occitane bath products and big fluffy white towels make shower time a very pleasant experiece.  Same superb quality as other rooms but versatile as it can be a double, double and single or twin.
